Library Lending Process

When a member or donor wants to donate a book/CD to the library:
- Member/donor e-mails librarian with the title of the item, author and summary of contents.
- If acceptable, Librarian confirms to the donor and request handover of the book.
- The Librarian collects the book and enters the item in the register of books.
- If the Donor desires so, the name of the donor is mentioned in the book.

The list of books and magazines available in the Library is kept up-to-date by the Librarian

The Library is open for Members of ICS Middle East Branch and Registered students. Others such as Sponsors (individuals/Companies), book donors and any other similar contributor to the ICS Middle East’s activities ar permitted to use the Library as authorized by the President, General Secretary or Committee Member in charge of Education.

The Log book maintained by the Librarian will contain details of the books borrowed from the Library.

All users who borrow books from the Library have to pay a refundable deposit of AED100/. The Librarian will acknowledge receipt of the deposit amount. All borrowers are expected to treat the borrowed item carefully and return it in the condition that it was received. If in case the book is damaged or not returned, the borrower undertakes to replace the book. Action will be taken by the Branch Committee against those who do not replace the damaged or lost book within a reasonable time.

Books are lent out for two weeks from the date of borrowing. It is the responsibility of the borrower to return the book within the allowed time. . Late fee of Dh.10 per week or part thereof will be deducted from the security deposit.

The Librarian will confirm return of the book to the borrower by email.

Any borrower of library book may be asked to return the books at short notice if the book is required by the Tutors, Trainers or such other purpose required by the Branch administration.

All users of the Library undertakes to abide by the Branch Library Rules in force.
